“Naisei” is the Japanese concept of introspection or reflection of one’s self.
The idea is to keep an objective perspective of ourselves in hopes to ensure we stay honest in what we train and how we are training, in order to become the best version of ourselves.
The Naiseikan Dojo is registered with the Yoshinkan Honhu Dojo in Japan.
Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that originates from an ancient Samurai form of unarmed combat. Instead of meeting force head on, it redirects force from the attacker with well timed, circular movements. The goal is to unbalance the attacker and, once unbalanced, subdue or control them using a range of pins, throws and joint locks. Aikido can be very effective regardless of size and strength due to this principle.
Yoshinkan Aikido is a style of Aikido developed by Gozo Shioda, one of Mohirei Ueshiba’s top students. It is known as the hard style of Aikido due to the training methods and emphasis on proper posture and form.
Yoshinkan is the only mandatory martial art required for the Tokyo riot police.
The Naiseikan Dojo is affiliated with the Sendokan Dojo in Missassauga, Ontario under Nic Mills Shihan (7th Dan)
